Sepang International Karting Circuit

(Selangor, malaysia)
Completed in 1998, Sepang Karting Circuit boasts an original asphalt surface that has remarkably withstood the test of time for over 25 years. While it now chews through tires quickly because it\'s micro-rough, it\'s still amazingly devoid of bumps - testament to the fact that it was built to F1-spec as a test-bed for big track.

Nestled near Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), this track allows race karts, rental karts, and motorbikes, creating a challenging environment on busy days because the track time is shared. This triple-use aspect can lead to significant breaks between your karting sessions, so plan for your day to stretch on practice days.

From a driving perspective the Sepang Karting Circuit is excellent, with lots of medium to high-speed corners, with a few slow bits mixed-in for variety. It\'s not physically demanding until the grip builds-up: the long corners with sustained g-forces can start to test your stamina and neck strength. Enthusiasts will appreciate that the layout mirrors sections of the adjacent F1 track—see if you can spot the similarities!

Recommended Hotel
The Sama Sama Hotel is the most popular hotel for people from outside of Malaysia taking part in events at Sepang. The hotel is about 15mins drive from the kart track, and conveniently attached to the main terminal at KLIA airport via a pedestrian bridge. Just take care when booking and avoid the air-side Sama-Sama Express Hotel. A note that while it\'s fairly easy to book transport with the Grab app and similar to get to the track, getting one back to the hotel can be tricky, so a rental car can be useful.
