Singapore, 14 October 2010 – Running overall second for the Drivers’ Championship of the 2010 Yamaha SL Cup, James Pull has one last battle to go this Sunday at Speedway PLUS in Selangor. Racing under former Formula One driver Alex Yoong’s kart racing team Axle BHPetrol Racing, the Singapore-based cadet karter started the Series with tremendous success when he was the only driver to score a double win at round one of the Yamaha SL Cup, clinching first place for both races. Throughout the first four rounds of the Series, Pull has been very consistent, never falling below second in the Championship.
“It has been a long season since March and this Sunday will determine the eventual winner. I will try and give my best performance and aim for the best possible result,” said Pull who turned 11 a week ago.
He added, “I would like to thank everyone who has contributed in one way or another to my progress, including my driver coach Richard Bradley (a multiple British kart racing champion and Formula BMW Pacific championship leader).”
This year, Pull has competed in the full season of Yamaha SL Cup and Asian Karting Open Championship as well as made guest appearances at Rotax Max Challenge (RMC) Malaysia Championship and the inaugural Singapore National Karting Championship.
He also headed to Italy at the end of summer for as part of his development programme and gained tremendous exposure through participation at a World Series Karting (WSK) Master Series race.
