Monza Kart 10-hour Endurance Race

KartingAsia.com

Monza Endurance Karting Here’s something interesting – a 10 hour kart race on the actual Monza F1 track. 60 teams, 6-10 drivers per team, Le-Mans style start. It isn’t cheap of course at 5500 Euro for a team + 30 Euro per driver, but it ought to be quite an experience. The race will be held on 28-29 June 2008.

The Event isn’t run on quite the full F1 track, but almost. You only miss out on the back straight and Parabolica. The track cuts back to the main straight before the back straight, and of course there are some chicanes and extra turns set-up all over the place to keep the drivers interested – after all these are in Honda 4-stroke “rental”-karts not 250cc Superkarts. ;).

The event is intended for all to take part in, the 30 Euro per driver is actually for a temporary Italian karting license. Last year they had 2 disabled teams that raced with hand-controls, and several professional level drivers as well.
